Standard Registration (Email Verification)

Fill out the signup form with your Full Name, unique Username, Email, 10-digit Indian Mobile (+91), and Password. Submit the form to initiate the cryptographic email activation pipeline.

The 6-Digit Email OTP Security Rules

Upon submitting standard registration, a 6-digit verification key is dispatched to your email inbox. Note the following rules:

• OTP Lifespan: The code remains valid for exactly 15 minutes before expiring.
• Attempts Limit: You have a maximum of 5 attempts to submit the correct code. Each wrong code reduces remaining tries. On the 5th failed attempt, the code is invalidated, the session is cleared, and your account is locked—requiring you to sign up again from scratch.
• Resend Cooldown: If you did not receive the email, you can request a new code. However, a 60-second cooldown timer restricts requests to prevent spam. The cooldown countdown must finish before you can resend.

Fast Social Logins (Google & GitHub)

Authenticate in one click by clicking Sign in with Google or Sign in with GitHub. Since these systems are pre-verified, you bypass standard email verification.

Completing Profile after Social Signups

When you register for the first time via Google or GitHub, the system prompts you to complete your profile on the Complete Profile page. You must fill out the following fields:

• Indian Mobile Number: Enter a valid 10-digit mobile number.
• Workspace Password: Establish a password. This allows you to log in directly via email and password credentials in the future.
• Suggested Username: The system automatically suggests a username based on your Google/GitHub name. The name is converted to lowercase, special characters are stripped, and numbers are appended if the base name is already taken (constrained between 3 and 16 characters).

As you type your mobile number and password, the interface updates a simulated "Developer Pass Card" and logs credentials to the dynamic "workspace_setup.log" terminal window in real-time.

Logging In

Go to the Login page. You can log in using either your username or your email address, along with your password. Check the "Remember Me" box to stay logged in on that device for 30 days without re-entering credentials.

Change Name & Phone

In the edit profile panel, you can update your Display Name and mobile number. Click save changes to update.

Upload Avatar (Profile Picture)

Click on the Avatar upload space. Choose a picture from your device (JPG or PNG format, under 2MB). The site will crop and set it as your circle profile icon.

Updating Password

For safety, you can change your password. Enter your current password, type a new strong password twice, and click change password.

Request Reset Link & Rate Limits

On the login page, click Forgot Password?. Enter your registered email address and click Send Link. To protect the server against automated script spam, a rate limit of 3 requests per IP address per hour is enforced. Exceeding this limit locks requests with a too-many-requests warning.

Check Email

Check your email inbox (and spam folder) for a message from EduSeekho containing your recovery link.

Set New Password

Click the link in the email. It will take you to a page where you can write a new password. The link is valid for exactly 1 hour for security before it becomes inactive.
